Turner Prize winner Wolfgang Tillmans has become one of the most prominent and influential photographers to emerge during the 1990s. Born in Germany he has spent most of his career in London. His photography encompasses portraiture, still life, landscape and - as here - abstract compositions. This is a unique photograph created without a camera, through the manipulation of light onto photosensitive paper in the darkroom. While it functions as a completely abstract work, it also has more erotic undertones of skin and body hair.
