Copenhagen 500 2004

Per Ahlmann (born 1965, Denmark)

Ahlman studied at Tommerup Ceramic Workshop and the Kolding Design School. This piece was exhibited at the Dronninglund Kunstcenter, 27 June 8 August 2004, and illustrated in the catalogue. Copenhagen 500 is typical of the very sculptural way that Ahlman works. He specialises in creating rather surreal forms that echo objects found in daily life. In this case he seems to be starting from the idea of a soup plate. The luscious quality of the orange into yellow glaze is very striking
